Changing Winds

Let's say you have 5 Top Right Chinese Map Pieces and none of the other pieces. You would like nothing more than to trade your duplicate pieces for the ones you don't have.

The current process to do this is fairly cumbersome. Maybe put up a WTT forum post? Wait for someone to see it and then bottle each other back and forth to work something out. Then one pirate sends an item first with the risk that the other pirate won't hold up their end of the bargain.

ENTER my idea: FLEA MARKET SWAP

Each applicable item has a SWAP option. After selecting swap, you go to a menu where you can enter in maybe up to 5 or 6 other item ID #s that you'd be willing to swap your item for. This creates your SWAP proposal in the FLEA MARKET section (similar to how the AUCTION is now). Other pirates can go in and see the item that you're willing to trade and a drop down menu of what they'd be willing to trade it for. If you have said item, you can select it in the drop down and hit SWAP. The items are traded between inventories and no bottles have to be exchanged at all or wait until both parties are online at the same time.

Nah! It's not my idea, so I don't like it!

Just kidding.

The problem I see is knowing the item ID#. Old salts like me might know the ID by heart, but others don't... Unless they know how to find it, they won't be able to list it as a "want".

Perhaps if Hägar wants to publish a list. It would have to auto-update upon release of new quests.
