Hägar the Horrible [1] 3 Mar 2025 8:05:31 pm | I don't know how much I'll be on over the next few days, but will do my best to stay online and release the next port and quests. I'll be clearing drainage, removing shade sails, and sandbagging over the next 24 hours.

thegoose [14126] 4 Mar 2025 8:33:45 am | Good news is that you are directly in the path, so if it's like the weather people here, it will completely miss you. | Likes: 0 |
Hägar the Horrible [1] 4 Mar 2025 6:12:42 pm | Updated map from my companies GIS shows the eye still going over my house, and my office (Virginia). The map is messy because it has transmission lines and substations overlaid. Almost finished prepping. Houses and power lines are not built for cyclonic weather in this part of the state.

Hägar the Horrible [1] 9 Mar 2025 6:05:45 pm | Just an update. I should be back online properly this afternoon to release quests. It’s been a bit crazy as the cyclone did what cyclones do: ignore the prediction and do their own thing.
It hovered off the coast for 2 days not really doing much except generating some wind. Then it crossed the coast about 30km north of us. Just like a hurricane, there’s a windy side and a wind & torrential rain side. In the southern hemisphere, the rainy side is south of the eye. We got that side and wow, that was an experience!
We lost power due to water ingress into an outside outlet popping the breakers. Fixed that, then the major power outages started, followed by 30 inches of rain. It’s still raining, but at least the wind is gone. No major damage, though I have not looked inside my observatory yet. It has a gantry stile roof that is chained on each corner when stowed. This means it’s not completely sealed. I saw from the camera that there was a bit of rain blowing in, but I have my scopes inside and the mount has a tarp over it.
A lot of my work colleagues are flooded in, some still without power. It feels like we got off lightly, but I do remember how much prep we put into being ready.
My only gripe is we’ve been out of milk for a few days and as much as I’ve tried to like black coffee, I just can’t drink it.
Thank you to everyone for patiently putting up with my absence. | Likes: 6 |

BlackCutlass [12901] 10 Mar 2025 3:26:44 pm | I'm with you Hagar, I have to have cream with my coffee! That's why I keep a back-up of powdered in my cupboard. It is better than nothing for the coffee. :) | Likes: 0 |
